About Us

The Indy 500 Chapter of the Model T Ford Club of America was formed in October of 1980 in Central Indiana by Irving Carlisle, Richard Harold, Brent Holleran, John Hendrickson, James Robbins and Gil Tempelton.  The Club started small but has grown and is now just over 100 member families in the 30 years since it was founded.  The majority of members are from Indiana and the surrounding states of Illinois, Ohio and Kentucky, but we also have members who are scattered across the United States as far as California and Maine.

The club members like to drive their cars on tours rather than attend shows.  They tour Indiana during the warm months and hold monthly meetings during the colder months.  Tours range from 50 miles to 150 miles per day.  They are usually on a Saturday or Sunday, but can be held over 2 or 3 days occasionally.  We also hold Model T Workshops throughout the year to share the knowledge of our more experienced members with those new to the hobby.

Club dues are $12.00 per year with renewal due each January.  Membership privileges include the club newsletter, a club roster when published and participation in all club activities for the member family.  T'rrific News is an 8 page newsletter published monthly in color with pictures and free member ads.  The club does not require ownership of a Model T to join and all makes of Model T's are welcome.  For insurance reasons, membership in the Model T Ford Club of America is strongly recommended but not required.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Indy 500 Chapter of the Model T Ford Club of America you can download a PDF of our Membership Application located on the Documents page of this website.  Just download the Application, fill it out and mail it along with your membership payment to the address provided on the application.
